Visitors to the Somerset Cricket Museum

The Victorian Over 60’s Cricket Association (VOSCA) was initiated in 2003 to cater for veteran cricketers wanting to continue playing in a friendly and competitive environment.

Since then, an Over 50’s competition has been added to compliment the existing Over 60’s and 70’s programs, playing under the umbrella of Veterans Cricket Victoria (VCV). The VCV now provide the structure, equipment, and facilities for more than 1800 players, so that anyone at all skill levels can continue playing in Over 50’s, 60’s and 70’s matches.

Veterans Cricket is Australia’s fastest growing sporting fraternity. The VCV is home for men in their 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and women over 40 years of age who love the game and want to play in a competitive but friendly environment.

The Castle Hill RSL Cricket Club is a historic community cricket club based in the Hills District of Sydney, Australia, with roots tracing back to 1858.

The club caters to all ages, genders, and skill levels:

• Blast Cricket: Modified introductory programs (Junior and Master Blaster) for boys and girls aged 5 to 10.
• Junior & Girls Cricket: Mixed-gender junior competitions alongside dedicated girls-only leagues (Stages 1, 2, and 3).
• Senior & Women’s Cricket: Traditional senior competitions for players aged 16+ as well as a Women’s Twilight Social League and competitive Metropolitan representation.
• Veterans/Masters Cricket: Over-40s (Masters), Over-50s (Classics), and Over-60s (Vintage) teams playing Sunday turf-wicket fixtures

Both groups were met in CACG by Museum Volunteers Mike Unwin and Patrick Draycott. They were given a 75 minute tour of the Ground, including the Media Centre and Indoor School, followed by visits to the Sports Shop, Museum and Millichamp and Hall.
