As the pictures and slides below show there has been an evolution of styles from the earliest ‘skull’ caps of the late 1800s, through the more conventional cap, including the Australian style ‘baggy’ cap to the baseball style and ‘sun’ hats of today.
The slide show below represents some of the research findings carried out in response to a question asked of the Museum “why are the majority of County Caps blue?”.
