Morebath Cricket Club – Club History

Morebath Cricket Club, thought to have been in existence since 1787, was re-established in 1948 to promote local community participation in healthy sports.

The Club has used several different cricket fields in its history, before moving to the present site, which was originally shared with football club until the overlapping seasons became unmanageable. It a friendly, sociable, and inclusive amateur cricket club which is located near Tiverton in Devon, England. The club is a registered Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC),

The club runs senior teams across different regional boundaries:

  • Saturdays: The club competes in the first division of the West Somerset Cricket League.
  • Sundays: They play in the second division of the Holiday Homes North Devon League

The club which boasts a picturesque village cricket ground is situated on the field directly in front of Morebath Manor (The Pavilion, Claypits, Court Lane, Morebath, Tiverton, EX16 9FG), it owns its ground, which features a modern clubhouse pavilion, an artificial match-play wicket, and dedicated training nets.
