Cricket shirts have clearly evolved from a piece of games kit, to being a form of identity and now also being a source of revenue both from sponsors and supporters. The picture below shows the Somerset shirts for 2025, the white shirt for County Championship matches, the black one for 50 over / One Day Cup games and the pink ones for the T20 Blast competition – with an unusual twist in that there is a bowling / fielding shirt and a batting shirt.
The slide set below displays a selection of shirts and sweaters held by the Museum – do note that Somerset County Cricket Club are one of a few counties to retain the cable knit sweater design,
